June 20th 2010
Fathers Day 2010 proved to be quite an exciting one for Aubrey this year.
Aubrey was singing at St David's hotel in Cardiff to celebrate Fathers Day
when Al Green and Michael McDonald walked into the hotel.
Mr Green initially thought he could hear a CD of one of his songs and it wasn't until he looked into the bar and saw Aubrey singing that he realised his mistake;
"I walked into the hotel and thought I could hear a CD playing of one of my songs, then I walked into the bar and there was this guy singing and it was Aubrey - I was so surprised. Man what a singer!!"
Aubrey was actually singing 'Let's stay together' when Al walked in - You couldn't make it up!!!
June 6th 2010
It seems that St David's hotel is the scene of many a rock and roll reunion (see other entries below) as last night Aubrey once again encountered some rock and roll legends.
Aubrey had been performing at the wedding of Tracy and Jason in the downstairs function suite of St David's Hotel. As Aubrey was packing away he bumped into his old friends The Sterephonics who had just performed to a rather excited sell out crowd at the Cardiff City Stadium. It could have been a long night, but a rather tired Aubrey admited defeat and left the party before it had even started and went home to bed!
May 2010
Aubrey would like it to be know that on no occasion will he talk to the press about any of the artists that he has come into contact with.
So please stop calling!
March 6th 2010
Aubrey returned to his old residency at the St. David's Hotel & Spa in Cardiff last night. He was stunned when Gary Rossington and Johnny Van Zant from the band Lynyrd Skynyrd (who were staying in the hotel and performing in the CIA) came to talk to him and told him; 'Man we really dig your music and your voice!'. Aubrey was speechless for one brief moment in his life... The band later returned to the hotel to watch Aubrey perform his rendition of 'Sweet Home Alabama'. Rock and Roll!!!

Janurary 19th 2010
Aubrey is currently working closely with Corporate Sports Events Management Company 'Under the Posts'. Most of this year will be spent performing at functions in aid of Scarlets Winger and international Mark Jones's testimonial year. Aubrey will perform at various fund raising events and on the pitch before a number of games. We will post any events in the news pages and on the gig guide. The picture below is of Aubrey with Mark and various members of the Welsh pack at the launch of Marks Testimonial year.

AN APOLOGY
Many apologies to those people who have turned up recently to see Aubrey perform at various gigs.
Unfortunately Aubrey contracted a flu virus which in turn led to Pneumonia and more dangerously Septicaemia which led to him being rushed to hospital for treatment.
Aubrey is slowly recovering but it will take a few weeks before he is back to his fighting fitness.
As of now, all gigs shown on the gig list are still going ahead, HOWEVER we strongly recommend that you ring the venue before setting out as the illness has a habit of rearing it's head.
Finally thank you to all Aubrey's well wishers - he has been very touched by the level of emails and messages - Big love to you all.

Those of you who were there you will know that I could have played all night but a busy weekend means I had to restrict the music to just 2hrs of singing!!
What a great bunch of people - keep checking the gig list to find out when Aubrey will be back...

April 26th - Sunday
Crumbs, another amazing night at the Pelican in Ogmore by sea last night saw audience members singing and dancing on the tables yet again. There were even a few guest singers which gave Aubrey a break from his marathon 2.5hr performance. This was his 4 th appearance at the venue this month and at the request of the manager Aubrey has not repeated a single song at the venue during this time. Therefore Aub has performed 140 different songs over a total of 7.5hrs - and he still managed to get the whole venue dancing every night! Don't miss the next gig on the first May bank holiday Saturday...

Aubrey performed to a full house at Kitty Flynns in Cardiff on Paddy's day - the black stuff was flowing and a fantastic night was had by all - it's resulted in a monthly slot on the last Wed of every month for the rest of the year!!!
Aubrey and his right hand roadie 'Foxy' were lucky enough to be invited along to the game on Saturday to sadly watch Wales lose - however the day was fantastic. Aubrey performed on the Cardiff Bay boat ' Seren Y Bae after the game to the customers, friends and employees of King David Tyres in Newport - An extra special thanks to Mr. Brian Dix for the splendid rendition of Sweet Caroline. Brian is the big boss at King David Tyres and we thank him from the bottom of our hearts for his hospitality.

Spencer Davis joins Aubrey on stage...
During Aubrey's performance at Aspers Casino in Swansea last night the manager asked Aubrey if he minded if someone could join him on stage to play harmonica.
It turned out to be the legendary blues rock musician Spencer Davis from The Spencer Davis Group. (Probably best known for their hit 'Keep on running').
After their performance together Spencer managed to get Aubrey very drunk and has offered to play blues harp on Aubrey's forthcoming album.

December 31st 2007 - Sir Anthony Hopkins
Just after performing his last song (which happened to be 'The Green Green Grass of Home') at The exclusive five star St. David's Hotel and Spa in Cardiff yesterday, Aubrey received a tap on the shoulder from a rather distinguished gentleman who commented;
"What a beautiful voice." before turning to rejoin his friends.
It was only as the man walked away that Aubrey realised the gentleman was none other that than the great Welsh liver eating acting legend Sir Anthony Hopkins.

November 22nd - Torchwood wrap party
Last night Aubrey performed and exclusive gig for the actors, writers and crew of the BBC television hit Sci-Fi Doctor Who spin-off 'Torchwood'. The event was held amongst some quite strict security at the Hilton Hotel in Cardiff.
"I received a phone call from the executive producer a few weeks before. I have has some small supporting artist rolls in both Torchwood and Dr. Who, and initially I thought they were going to offer me a major roll... It turned out she had seen me at a wedding earlier in the year and thought I would be ideal for the party - I was really chuffed to be asked." said Aubrey.
Just before Aubrey performed lead actor John Barrowman jumped up on stage and called out to the assembled crowd to 'Suck my c**c!' which was nice. The Growler was later joined on stage by various members of the crew and cast throughout the evening - all of whom proved they are as good at drinking and singing as they are acting!

Kylie Minogue will appear as the Doctors assistant in this years special (Aubrey's wife 'Mez' appeared as the body double for Catherine Tate in last years Xmas special.) The pint sized Aussie goddess (who herself has Welsh roots) popped in for a spot of lunch at the hotel yesterday when Aubrey was performing. Unfortunately she wasn't lucky enough to get to meet the man himself as he had to rush off for another engagement.

Aubrey seeking a manager
The time has come for Aubrey to bite the bullet and take on a manager. The high level of gigs and TV appearances which are constantly increasing means Aubrey is now actively looking for a manager to help him co-ordinate his work. Ideally the person would be South Wales or London based and have experience in managing bands or solo acts. The right person must be highly productive and highly motivated and prepared to push Aubrey to the next level. If you are that person or you know someone that is then please contact us on: 01446 754350

Aubrey in the Guardian & Sunday Express
Yes it's true whilst some of the British newspapers reviews of the BBC TV show 'How to improve your memory' did not exactly set the world on fire, the reviewers did seem to like Aubrey! Here is a snippet of Nancy Banks-Smith review in the Guardian on Thursday 10th August 2006...
"I did, however, like Aubrey, a singer fondly known in Wales as the Ginger Growler. He couldn't remember the words of his songs and carried them on a surreptitious piece of paper. I believe Dusty Springfield developed those extravagant gestures so she could read the lyrics written on her hands. Come on, Ginger! Give us a burst of Unforgettable."
(Reproduced from the Guardian Web site full link here: www.Guardian.co.uk
The reviewer for the Sunday Times also referred to Aubrey as 'The next Bryn Terfel'
You can now watch all of the clips from the show in the Audio & Video section of the site.

Bui Doi Audio & Video now in Audio & Video Section
Following a number of requests from people who watched Aubrey on the BBC television program 'How to improve your memory' we have posted up the version that Aubrey recorded on the show and a separate audio version recorded as a result of the show. It's not the best quality, but we promise there will be a better version recorded soon with the help of David Beer (Musical director on the West End versions of 'Fame' and 'Jesus Christ Superstar' etc) who accompanied Aubrey on piano during the show. Your comments are greatly appreciated.
See Aubrey perform on national BBC1- Wed August 9th 8pm
Aubrey is one of the people featured on the BBC's 'How to improve your memory' programme which is being shown this Wednesday August 9th at 8pm on BBC1. He will be seen learning a new memory technique to help him learn lyrics and will close the show with a live rendition of 'Bui Doi' a song from Miss Saigon.
Aubrey was followed around for almost a month by a BBC camera crew and ended up singing at the end of the show which was filmed at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and Longleat House (Which was re-named 'Memory Mansion' for the event).
Set your TV recorders now for this interesting look at how our memories work and see how Aubrey gets on with the new learning techniques... This is prime time viewing, so tell all your mates!

Breaking news...Aubrey has been chosen to appear on a BBC TV special all about memory! The show will be presented by Groucho Markx look-a-like Professor Lord Robert Winston. Some of you may know that Aubrey has a particular problem remembering lyrics and often has to use a prompt. With this in mind, the BBC will be following Aubrey around over the next two weeks filming him as he works. So if you happen to come along to the gig on Thursday in the Cornerstone, you could have your chance of being on the telly as the BBC will be filming Aubrey at this gig.
And another thing...
Sorry for the delay in getting out the pre-release versions of the album - but for one reason and another Aubrey has only just started work on the recordings. Those of you lucky enough to have signed up on Aubrey's guestbook will get your copies soon.

I have decided to keep the new section of the website containing my original material completely separate from this website. The new 'band' project will be called 'MyDash' - www.mydash.co.uk and will be up and running by the end of January. If you can't wait to hear some of the new material, you can check some of it out on www.myspace.com/mydash I have set myself a few goals for this year, the first being MyDash the second is I plan to perform Nessun Dorma on the stage at the Wales Millennium Centre by the end of 2006. If anyone has any idea of how I can achieve this goal then let me know - because I haven't got a clue!!!.
